- Trail users on any trail system are encouraged to maintain distance between themselves and others by signaling your presence with your voice, bell, or horn, and stepping off the trail to allow others to pass.

The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art is in downtown Cedar Rapids. It is privately owned and was established in 1905. The museum acquired the old Cedar Rapids Public Library building after the library moved into a new location in 1985. Ushers Ferry Historic Village (Temporarily Closed)
Ushers Ferry Historic Village provides the citizens of Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa with a venue for family friendly activities, events and programs that build community from the historical perspective of a small Iowa town at the turn of the 20th century. Located on a ten acre site in beautiful Seminole Valley, Ushers Ferry features nine ADA accessible, historic buildings available to tour that depict life in a small Iowa town between the years of 1890 and 1910.
The Granger House Victorian Museum (Temporarily Closed)
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a wonderful example of Victorian Italianate architecture, The Granger House Victorian Museum is the only restored middle-class family home in the Cedar Rapids area. Occupied by a single family for nearly 100 years, the house contains many of its original furnishings and is arranged to reflect the lifestyle of a successful, late 19th-century middle-class family.

The Coralville Community Gardens offer a place for citizens to lease a plot to plant and grow their own fresh produce, herbs, and annual flowers. The gardens also offer a limited number of raised beds for those with mobility impairments. Composed material and top soil is applied over the entire garden area at the beginning of the season.
Effective November 16, 2020, the Coralville Recreation Center will limit lap swim numbers due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in Johnson County. The Antique Car Museum of Iowa showcases over eighty automobiles dating from 1899 to 1995 as well as an original Skelly gas station, and a collection of antique Iowa license plates. The museum also features a gift shop.

Iowa River Corridor (IRC) Trail
Iowa City’s longest (six miles) and most heavily used trail. Public parking for trail access is available at Napoleon Park, City Park, Ned Ashton Park, and Crandic Park. The IRC Trail provides access to several parks, the University of Iowa campus, downtown Iowa City, the Iowa River, and it connects to many intersecting streets and sidewalks, and on its north end provides access to Coralville.
Willow Creek Trail
Is approximately two miles long and connects to Willow Creek Park, Kiwanis Park, Walden Square commercial area, West High School, and surrounding neighborhoods. Public parking is available at Kiwanis Park and Willow Creek Park for trail access.
The trails depicted on the map are hard-surfaced, either concrete or asphalt, and all non-motorized use is permitted, including walking, jogging, in-line skating, skateboarding, scooting, etc. Please observe trail etiquette when using the trails, and respect other trail users.
Biking in Iowa City
City Channel 4 produced a series of short videos, that focus on bicycle education and safety. Each video will run 30 to 60 seconds and are meant for sharing with your friends, family, and co-workers on social media using #ICBikeShorts. The videos feature local bicyclists and cover a range of topics, anything from fixing a flat tire to locking your bike, to trail etiquette and navigating a roundabout. View the Bike Shorts series.

An Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department issued facilities pass is required to use the gym, game room and fitness area. There is no fee for the initial pass, and replacement passes cost $2 each. Passes are issued at the recreation centers.
Detailed Facility Pass Information
Patrons 16-years-old and older may be issued a facility pass at either recreation center. Youth ages 12-15 may be issued a pass provided a parent/guardian is present, and have completed and signed the membership form, also available at the recreation centers.
Note: Facility policy prohibits youth 11-years-old and younger from using the facility unless accompanied by a responsible person, 16-years-old or older who can provide constant supervision. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the fitness room.
Dog Parks
Thornberry Off-leash Dog Park
Located at 1867 Foster Rd.
Thornberry Off-Leash Park opened in 2006 and is an 11-acre park divided into sections to accommodate most dogs needs:
- The Linder Tire Service Small Dog Yard is designated for dogs less than 18 inches tall at the shoulder. There is an asphalt path to the shelter and room to run.
- Emma’s Run is available for dogs that may not do well with other dogs, but need a large area to run. Dogs may remain on leash for individual or group training in his area only.
- Lucky Pawz Playground is the largest area. There are paved paths and two shelters with benches.
- Lily’s Pond is a separate, fenced area with a 15-foot deep pond available for dog swimming when weather permits.
Rita’s Ranch
Located at 640 S. Scott Blvd.
Opened in 2009, Iowa City’s second dog park is a three-acre area within Scott Park. Rita’s Ranch includes a Lucky Pawz Playground area. Please note, Rita’s Ranch is located in a water retention area and all or part will be closed following heavy rain, spring thaw or when necessary to protect the turf.
Dog park tags and day passes
All dogs must display either a park permit tag or a day pass to use the off-leash dog parks. Owners without permits or passes may be fined $100 for each offense. Iowa City residents must have a current City of Iowa City dog license to get a park tag. Proof of rabies vaccination is also required to use the parks.
One-year permit tags may be purchased at the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, the Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center, and at both dog parks if staff is present. A copy of the dog’s up-to-date rabies vaccination records must be submitted with the dog park application at time of purchase. Annual tags are good from January 1 – December 31.

One-year permit tags cost:
- $52 for Iowa City residents
- $57 for non-residents
Discounts of $5 per year are available for dogs that are spayed or neutered.
Day passes are available for $5 per dog. Day pass envelopes can be found in the dispensers at the dog park entrances.

The City of North Liberty offers a seasonal outdoor rink. Enjoy winter and take advantage of the Penn Meadows Park 100-foot by 115-foot outdoor ice rink installed on top of the tennis courts. Bring your own skates or borrow skates from the Recreation Department.
Hours
The rink will be open to all ages for free public skating from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily during the season (December-March) as long as weather conditions are agreeable. Lights will be on daily from 4 p.m. – 9:30 p.m to provide for safe evening skating. Enter using the southeast corner gate near the bleachers.
